Linnéstaden, referred to locally as simply Linné, is my laid-back neighourhood since 2010. I love the charming mix of independent shops, cafés, wine bars, and restaurants.

Once a working class neighbourhood, Majorna is now it is a hot spot with coffee houses, restaurants, bars and small shops. The neighbourhood derives much of its character from the lovely wooden houses that line the main streets and the cozy cafes.

Vasastan is part of central Gothenburg. It was built in stone in neo-renaissance and baroque style for the wealthy middle class. The area is home to the University of Gothenburg central office, the law and business school. Many great restaurants and bars are found in this area.

The town was planned after Dutch cities to have canals. Along the canal in central Gothenburg there are a number of excellent places to dine; some with a view.
